Customer Highlight:
Flemington-Raritan School District, NJ
By:
Corinne McLaughlin,
Marketing Coordinator
Interview with:
Gina Nobile-Liskowacki, SubFinder Operator
Flemington-Raritan School District
encompasses the Borough of Flemington and
the township of Raritan in
Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Originally the
territory of the Lenni-Lenape Indians, the
land that is now Hunterdon County was
purchased by William Penn and Daniel Coxe in
1712. The Borough received the name
“Flemington” when purchased in 1756 by
Samuel Fleming; after which he built a
home, which still stands today. Surrounded
by fertile farmland, many German and English
settlers established their beginning
industries and depended on the local farm
products. In 1785, Flemington was officially
chosen as the County Seat of Hunterdon.
Today, Flemington is a growing area that
still maintains a quaint, country
atmosphere. It is home to the annual county
fair, and is has a major factory outlet
center, having over 65 stores – one of the
highest quality shopping outlets in the
country. There is a little bit of something
for everyone in this area.
The
Flemington-Raritan School District is a
regional, K-8 school district providing
children within this growing community
exploration to find new interests and gain
self-confidence while learning from one
another. This technologically innovative
school system provides students with
high-quality instructional programs and has
recently expanded their facilities due to
population growth. As one of their strong
commitments towards the expansion and use of
technology, I was excited to get a chance to
catch up with SubFinder Operator, Gina
Nobile-Liskowacki, to find out how SubFinder
helps them operate their four K-4 elementary
schools, a 5-6 intermediate school and a 7-8
middle school that houses over 3,600
students.
Flemington-Raritan School District (FRSD)
has been using SubFinder for over 10
years. Why did the organization decide
to use an automated system to assist in
placing substitutes?
FRSD is the largest K-8 school district
in Hunterdon County, NJ. With over 500
employees-- including teachers, support
staff, administrators and aides--the
district faced a significant need to
secure substitute employees in a quick,
consistent, and timely manner. SubFinder
fills that need as it provides immediate
and reliable results with outstanding
customer service and support.
Besides automatically placing
substitutes, what other features and
functions does SubFinder provide that
assists your human resource and/or
payroll departments on a regular basis?
FRSD uses a number of SubFinder
features, most recently, Leave Control,
which allows staff members to log in to
the SubFinder system and view their
leave balances in real time. This
feature enables staff to better track
and monitor their absence and remaining
balances of specific attendance reasons,
including sick, personal, and vacation
days. SubFinder has become our source of
verifying staff attendance.
As a SubFinder user who originally had
the box-on-site solution, has SubFinder
as the ASP solution helped your
organization?
Yes! With the ASP solution, our district
has not lost SubFinder service or
experienced a disruption in connection
or service. Our district has been
extremely satisfied with SubFinder’s
support as this alleviates problems and
issues within our in-house technology
team. This enables our tech department
to focus on supporting the needs of
students and staff.
Recently, your organization enrolled in
the Maxx Advantage Program – our free
customer service program offered to all
SubFinder customers. Why did you decide
to enroll, and how has it helped thus
far?
FRSD was attracted to the Maxx Advantage
program as this free service offers
increased communication, including
electronic news and updates, tips and
ideas. We also receive discounts for
additional trainings and access to
monthly webinars. We are delighted to
know that we can access and contact
SubFinder executives, if necessary. We
also appreciate the analysis and
strategies SubFinder offers clients
through its performance appraisals.
How does your organization feel about
the product and service you have
received from CRS for over 10 years?
Since our district migrated to CRS, we
have been satisfied with the transition.
Although hesitant at first, staff
members accepted the change and have
grown to value the system and its
features and services. As our district
grows so does SubFinder’s ability to
identify and create solutions that help
school districts’ ongoing changes,
needs, and demands from our human
resources department. We look forward to
receiving future upgrades and learning
about new products that will allow our
district to best meet the needs of our
employees.
Thank you to Gina and to Flemington-Raritan
School District for participating in the

Choose SubFinder
for Absence Management
Trusted by K-12 school districts for almost
25 years, we closely follow the trends in
education today—we are aware of studies
drawing correlations between student
achievement and teacher absenteeism. With
increased pressure on teachers and
administrators, SubFinder will assist your
district in placing the most qualified
substitute in every classroom, every time.
That means peace of mind for you, your
educators, and parents.
The majority of our current customer base
includes school districts and educational
cooperative agencies that have provided
feedback and recommendations throughout the
years, which has contributed greatly to the
continuing development of our SubFinder
product. The unique needs of the education
market involve tracking of absences and
protection against unemployment claims. We
have designed SubFinder to make this easier
through options like Leave Control and
Verification, in addition to over 600
reports (including those specifically
designed to protect against unemployment
claims), as well as a custom export
generator that allows customized downloads
of data that can be formatted as needed.
Another key advantage of the SubFinder
software is its integration capabilities.
When you integrate SubFinder with your human
resources and payroll applications, you will
streamline processes, eliminate manual data
entry, increase accuracy, and save valuable
time.

10 Ways to Go Green in the New Year
Article From:
SecondAct –
http://www.secondact.com/
New
Year's resolutions are easy to break. But if
one of your resolutions is to live a greener
life, here are 10 simple ways to make a real
change:
1. Go
cold.
Rather than washing your laundry in warm or
hot water, wash every load in cold water.
Your clothes will get just as clean, and
you'll save energy. According to the
Department of Energy, washing in cold water
can save consumers up to 80 percent of
energy per load, which translates to up to
$100 per year.
2.
Pitch the paper.
Switch from paper towels to cloth towels.
You'll not only divert lots of waste from
the landfill, but you'll save money, too.
Bea Johnson and her family have figured out how to live well while producing
almost no household waste.
3.
Pay online.
Switch to e-billing for utilities, credit
cards and other monthly bills. You'll save
paper and reduce the carbon footprint of the
Postal Service.
4.
Catch the rain.
Build
or buy a
rain barrel to collect free water for your lawn and plants.
5. Go
meatless.
Once
a week, eat like a vegetarian, and help cut
down on the greenhouse gases emitted by the
livestock industry.
Here's how five meat lovers eliminated meat
from their diets once a week.
6.
Park your car.
